BRITTNI HENDERSON (she/her/hers)

Yoga Teacher + Yoga Sculpt Teacher

Brittni Henderson is a Certified Yoga Teacher and Yoga Sculpt Teacher Trainer at Providence Power Yoga. Brittni graduated from the PPY Yoga Teacher Training in 2017 and began teaching Vinyasa and Yoga Sculpt immediately after graduation. Brittni has a passion for self-expression through movement and breath. She brings a fun-loving spirit, an open mind, an effervescent energy, and an optimistic approach to her classes. She loves meeting new people, learning about their lives, and feeling the beauty their presence brings to the PPY community.

Brittni’s sequences are designed to invite students to try poses in a variety of different ways. The use of props is always encouraged, and students will learn that their needs will always come first. Postures will be intricately woven together to build up to a “peak pose” or a “peak series of poses.” Modifications and adjustments will not only be encouraged, but will be included in Brittni’s instruction of the sequence.

In Yoga Sculpt, Brittni relies on the tenets of Yoga to design a safe, strong, and accessible sequence. Students always have the opportunity to begin class using no weights or light weights, knowing that they will have another chance to practice the same movements again. Classes will differ from day to day, but will be connected by a similar thread each week, allowing students to build strength, confidence, and awareness of their bodies over time.

Brittni is a lover of fiction and poetry, and ends every class with a short reading. Brittni takes inspiration from yoga teachers that inspire her– including Caroline Peavy, Nik Delfino, and Julie Shore– as well as from athletes, personal trainers, physical therapists, and other movement professionals. Students may also learn about some of the latest pop culture news, hear about her favorite recent reads, or simply chat about what’s happening in the community when they take one of Brittni’s classes.
