BRITTNI HENDERSON (she/her/hers)

Yoga Teacher + Yoga Sculpt Teacher

Brittni Henderson is a 200-hour certified yoga instructor who has a passion for self-expression through movement and breath. Brittni teaches Vinyasa and Yoga Sculpt at PPY and is inspired by the juxtaposition of softness and strength needed in these classes.

As a lover of repetition, Brittni’s sequences are typically designed to invite you to explore poses frequently and in different ways. In Vinyasa, you’ll likely build up to a “peak pose” or “peak series.” In Yoga Sculpt, you’ll notice a focus on a specific muscle group, area of the body, or genre of music. She is a lover of poetry and ends every class with a reading she hopes will bring a piece of joy to the conclusion of your practice. Brittni takes inspiration from yoga instructors Caroline Peavy, Shannah Green, and Danielle Voight, as well as personal trainers, athletes, and friends in other modalities of moment.

Brittni is a writer at heart and to connect this to her yoga teaching/practice, she is currently enrolled in the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies, where she is studying Sanskrit, the ancient language of yoga. The courses are broken down by levels–from introduction to advanced– and as of January 2022, Brittni has completed three levels under the instruction and guidance of Professor Zoë Slatoff-Ponté. Brittni continues to practice transcribing, transliteration, and chanting of the Sanskrit texts covered in these courses.

Brittni incorporates a fun-loving spirit into her classes and is constantly inspired by the people who participate in her classes. She believes that every class is a lesson on life, and she walks away from her mat– whether she’s teaching or practicing– with something she will hold in her heart forever.
