Hips - Exploring Strategies for Mobility and Strength

This workshop focuses on cultivating balance in the hips, working beyond the notion that what hips require is endless opening. We will explore strategies for mobility and strength as it relates to asana practice. Expect to work on the six primary actions of the hips: flexion, extension, adduction, abduction, internal rotation and external rotation with an assortment of props. The workshop will include a brief review of anatomical actions, bony landmarks and key musculature for the pelvis and legs. Followed by sequence designed to help you feel the various actions of the hips in strong, subtle and restorative ways. This workshop is appropriate for students with an established practice who are curious about how to address a well rounded range of movement within the body.
