A Journey through the Chakras: Understanding Ourselves and Finding Balance

The Chakra System, originating from ancient Hindu texts and practices, refers to 7 known energy centers that exist in the body. Each is associated with particular functions within the body and with specific life issues and the way we handle them, both inside ourselves and in our interactions with the outside world. The chakras can serve as valuable contemplations for a yoga practice. Chakra yoga is designed to stimulate these energy centers, allowing us to see where we are stuck and therefore imbalanced and then utilizing asana and pranayama to release these blocks and clear the path to higher consciousness. In this workshop we will be systematically working through the 7 Chakras using postures, visualization, chanting and meditation to facilitate spiritual and physical well-being.
