Noelle Curren

Noelle is a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified teacher. She came to her practice at 17, teaching herself postures and sequences from a yoga book, quickly developing a very strong, committed home practice. She fell in love with the intensity of holding the physical postures, the creativity of creating her own sequences and the freedom to explore; which eventually led her to teaching. Noelle attended the University of Rhode Island where she studied Kinesiology with a focus in exercise science. In 2013 she completed her Level 1 YogaFit certification and taught yoga at the Anna Fascitelli Fitness and Wellness Center at the University of Rhode Island. She completed her teacher training at Raffa Yoga in December 2015. Noelle brings her playful spirit, humor, and love for yoga to her classes; as well as her strong background in anatomy and understanding of the body in motion. Noelle teaches from an authentic place with the intention of presenting yoga in a way that is accessible for everyone. Classes are mindfully taught to draw attention to alignment and towards cultivating strength. Noelle teaches creative sequences to the backdrop of carefully crafted playlists that compliment the progression of the class and enhance the overall experience.

Noelle Curren instructs the following:
  • All Levels Vinyasa
  • Vinyasa is a popular style of yoga that seamlessly links breath with movement. It is often referred to as ‘flow yoga’ or ‘meditation in motion’ because of the smooth way in which the poses transition from one to another, almost like a dance. These classes will offer a challenging flow usually with longer holds but always with a focus on breath and movement. We will flow through fun, creative, and at times unexpected sequences that bring the breath along for the ride. We will leave plenty of room to refine alignment, experiment with variations, and get acquainted or reacquainted with the more subtle aspects of the practice.
All levels are welcome and supported! The room will be heated to approximately 90 degrees with a comfortable level of humidity.

  • Yin

  • Hatha Vinyasa
  • In Hatha Vinyasa, there is emphasis on proper alignment to ensure that the most benefit is derived from the pose and that risk of injury is reduced. Props, including blankets, blocks and straps, are incorporated to achieve proper alignment. Breathing is emphasized to help students experience a mindful practice. Breathing (Pranayama) and meditation techniques may also be taught as a class focus. Hatha Vinyasa is an excellent style for students who appreciate longer holds in individual postures so that they may begin to experience the poses more deeply from the inside. Students who prefer a slower and more meditative approach to practice (while still reaping the benefits of a physical practice) will benefit greatly from Hatha Vinyasa. The intention for this class is to be able to express yourself in the practice of yoga and to embrace that it is your practice and that you are invited to show up exactly as you are.

The room is heated between 85-90 degrees with some humidity. This class is accessible to all levels.
