This 35-hour training is designed for teachers of yoga to better meet the needs of their students with chronic or acute back pain. The workshop is offered in three tiers:
1. On The Fly (5 hours) - The questions to ask students dropping in for regular class, how to keep them safe in regular class format, what certain cues mean for them, the poses they need to be careful with, on the fly adjustments they can make for safety.
2. A Closer Look (10 hours) - in depth anatomy of the spine and all its parts and neighbors, including bone, discs, muscles, nerves, hips, shoulders and abdomen.  Then applying that map to theory on the whys and hows of back pain.
3. Application of Methods (20 hours) - applying asana therapeutically for back pain including evaluation of posture, body reading, how issues present and techniques or working with hips and low back, sciatic pain, sacrum pain, lumbar issues, scoliosis, thoracic spine, cervical issues and other special spinal considerations.
 
These weekends are designed for yoga teachers and dedicated students working with back pain.  The content is organized for a progressive learning experience and there must be attended in its entirety.  No drop-ins allowed.  Contact Theresa with special requests.
