Sunrise Yoga (PPY)

Robin Hashway

Robin began practicing yoga and fell, quick and hard, in love with the physical practice. Always an athlete, yoga provided not only strength training, but a delicious sense of full body ease, not something she usually associated with "working out." And when the opportunity arose to take a teacher training, she jumped in. Robin had no intention of teaching, only wanting to learn more about the physical benefits of asana, and to begin to dive into the history and philosophy of a practice that was quickly transforming not only her body, but her sense of calm and wellbeing. Part of the training requirement was practice teaching, so Robin forced her family to meet every week for an hour so she could pass along the sequences and postures she was learning. By the end of her training, Robin was itching to start passing on everything she could to anyone who would listen, and lo and behold, applied to teach.
Robin trained in Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga right here at Providence Power Yoga, earning her 200 hour RYT in February of 2016, and began teaching in April of the same year. She approaches the asana practice as a way to explore the body and mind with curiosity and joy. By creating strong, sometimes unusual sequences based on the foundational postures, students build strength and security. Steady vinyasa flow, supplemented with graceful organic movements (and just a little fun) allows the student to find their own freedom of expression on the mat. 
 

 

Emma Lipkin

TEACHER
Emma has been passionately teaching yoga since 2010. Emma's yoga practice provides a center from which the other parts of her life radiate. Through yoga she has found balance and structure, freedom and joy. By cultivating a culture of kindness and love, she strives to create a space for her students where discovery and transformation are accessible. She believes yoga can be both challenging and restorative, focused and FUN! She hopes that her service to her students is equal to the gifts she has been given by all the amazing people in her life.

Danielle Voight

Danielle began her yoga practice 6 years ago while battling depression. She was invited by a friend to a yoga class and was immediately surprised at the profoundly positive affect it had on her whole life. As her practice of meditation, mindful movement and breathing improved, she began to notice other aspects of her life improving as well. She began a healthier lifestyle, substituting late nights out for early morning yoga classes. Finding balance in a pose allowed her to find balance in her life. Seeing the vast improvement of her mental, emotional and physical self that yoga offered, she knew she wanted to share this practice with others. She traveled to Rajesthan , India in 2013 where she completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. While in India, she fell in love with the spirituality and the rituals connected to the practice. You will often times hear her tell stories of the Hindu gods and the relationships they have with the poses in class. Her Vinyasa classes are breath centered, passionate, challenging at times and always free of judgment and competition.
Awaken the body and mind with an uplifting combination of breath and asana. Throughout this early morning class, you will move slowly and mindfully by way of traditional sun salutations and skillfully crafted Vinyasa sequences.

The studio is heated to 90 degrees with moderate humidity. This class is accessible to all levels.
